Like channa, I've done the SFO/OAK/SJC thing a bunch of times -- despite what we as FT'ers know as 'co-terminals' I'd say that 90% of the time it's something Gate Agents never think of -- and, in theory, they could just do it to you without consent, although that's never happened to me.
