Location: 1 hour from Khao Yai, Thailand. No longer Bangkok, China, Taiwan , Palm Coast, FL, LA, or Chicago though still exiled, again, from the Bay Area.

As for the date booked, it would be expected that one books the "day before" arrival if you get in past midnight. Otherwise, an "early arrival" would not likley be granted. It is the custom in this part of the world when numerous flights from NAmerica arrive between 11:30p and 12:30a that one books the date as if you arrived earlier in the day.
Actually, flew in from SIN on AY, so very late arrival and didn't feel the need, since only 3000 points per night, to try "early arrival" for the stay. And yes, PLT on *wood, so that may explain the suite UPG.
