I think I should defend that a tad. I spent a few hours in the Flagship lounge at LAX last week and I have to say it was very nice - snacks, open bar, comfy chairs, airy, light. This is the lounge (one of only two which still exist in the US) for international First pax/Emeralds, of course. I have to say, it was nearly as good as a Terraces
It's ok...for me the best bit was the fact there was only one other person in the FL, whereas the AC was really rather busy. Oh and the frozen glasses to help make that Corona a little chillier
As for the rules, well it appears the OP in the AA thread was flying to Mexico City which unlike the rest of the country does allow access to BA lounges as an EXP. Frankly I think most BA Golds would be annoyed if all of a sudden CX refused access to the Wing/Pier...
