Perhaps a different way of looking at it would be which would you rather do in economy, or which would you rather NOT do in economy (aside from the obvious answer - neither in Y!)? If you're comparing SIN-NRT-LAX to the LAX-SIN nonstop, keep in mind you're comparing Y on the 747 to Y+ on the 345. Just my 2 cents.
