Yes, I just flew into CLD, and it is a great airport. I think even for someone living close to SAN, the free parking plus the short lines would still make it a very attractive choice!

The downside was that for both outbound and return, the LAX-CLD/CLD-LAX flights were late 30-60 min. It seemed that the first flight of the day was fine, and then all subsequent ones were delayed. I don't know if it is normal or I just had bad luck.
