On a related note, when did you hit 1P? I hit it a month and a half ago or so, and haven't received my package yet. My profile on the web and any boarding passes I've had since then have reflected 1P status. I'm just worried that on the trans-pac flight I'm taking next week, I won't be able to access the *A lounges without a card.
Miles were flown by late June, first flights after that were in mid-July, domestic Canadian flights on AC. BP's didn't print with UA*G on them, however in the first AC Maple Leaf Lounge I visited (people say to print out from UA.com confirmation where it says your status but I forgot) I explained I just made status, didn't receive my card yet, but feel free to call United to verify I was Premier Executive/*A Gold. She just took my word for it and let me in w/o calling. On a transit in YYZ (where the lounge agents are usually pretty strict) I explained the same thing. First she said "Let me try re-entering your number and reprinting the BP." Sure enough, this time it came out with UA*G on it. No idea why it didn't the 1st time after it re-entered the#.... maybe it hadn't hit the computers yet. But the UA*G on the BP was enough to get me in w/o the card.
Got the card today in the mail (in Canada), so overall time of 3-4 weeks isn't bad I guess....
If I recall from some posts in this forum, that people who have hit status and have very soon upcoming trips have had some luck in getting UA to FedEx their kits.... try doing a search, and maybe give that a shot... I decided not to bother...
