I am sorry if I missed something, but what makes us believe that upgrades will be possible on one's airlines codeshare flights (i.e. DL) on different metal (i.e. NW or CO)? I am not aware this is possible when flying with any SkyTeam member (except the famous exception when flying AF on Delta codeshare transatlantic).
