assigning BA / IB seats on AA award ticket
I have booked an award in U (J) class from YYZ-LHR-MAD-GRX returning GRX-MAD-ORD-YYZ. I completed the booking today to fly on friday and we're in the middle of the summer, I had some problems in the past with AA EXP agents but this time they were very good, it took me only a couple of calls & few days to get exactly what I wanted.
I'm on a boeing 744 BA flight (YYZ-LHR) on the way to europe and on airbus 346 IB (MAD-ORD) flight on the way back to america.
some questions:
1) I see in seatguru 744 has an lower and upper desk for business (if I'm not wrong they called world club) , what do you recommend upper / lower & which seat ? how can I assign seats without using the phone ? can I go to BA site and pull out the reservation using the AA code or the itinerary as we can do in aa.com ? this BA boeing 744 has internet connection on board ?
2) I have red IB renovated most or all of the business class to flat and they suppose to include internet. is this the case for this airbus plane from MAD to ORD ? any recommendations about seating # ? and same question about BA, can I pull in iberia.com the reservation and assign seats using the AA reservation code ?
3) this question is for my future ticketing: I know there are no magic systems to check U inventory except from AA using expertflyer. I red on some threads that you can do that in ba.com and iberia.com and it normally matches the real thing when you call AA to book, I signed up to ba.com but I cannot figure it out how to do this. I go to executive club, put the option to book online, awards ask me to sign on but then goes to the normal reservation page and there's no option to book or check award availability. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but don't know what it is. I didn't try iberia yet but I guess you can do it as well.
thanks a lot.
