As a third generation El Pasoan, I can recommend a few places. Stateline is very good; however, yesterday ( in the big storm), they were flooded. Don't know if it will be cleaned up by the time you get here. Look at Geo Geskes in Kern Place near UTEP. Also Cafe Central downtown, Great American Land and Cattle (a couple of locations), If you like Mexican, I can recommend Leo's (prefer the Westside location), Avila's, L and J which is close to the I-10 and US- 54( off of the Copia St. exit). Casa Jurado (across the street from Geo Geskes), and Forte's Mexican Elder ( off I-10 and Chelsea). We had a very damaging rain storm dumping more water than I can every remember. Down by the Stateline, it was very flooded and the water was still standing as of this morning. There are also the assortment of the chains; but if you are like me, you like to try the local outfits. PM me if any questions.
