I've stayed here a lot as well ... the best thing about it is the free parking. It might be the only place this close to DC and the Metro with free parking.

A funny story about this place (it related partially to the "complaining" thread from a few days back):

My dad was staying there and noticed there was a bad smell coming from the water in the shower. He complained to the front desk, only to be told that there was nothing they can do about this. My dad asked to speak with the manager and was told he was not there. Next morning at checkout, same deal -- and he was rebuked for any compensation.

But my dad is not a man to be deterred. He sent a letter to the Arlington County Water Commission complaining of possible contaminated water due to poor maintenance at the hotel - and cc'ed the HGI manager.

My dad received a call a week later from the manager of the hotel offering him a free two-night weekend stay and apologizing profusely.

I still stay at this place, despite that... but the story just makes me laugh. Do not mess with my dad, is the moral.
