I recently stayed at the Radisson/SAS because I wanted to go into the city...was relatively cheap and pretty nice, and very close.
The InterCity hotel has no rooms available. Nor does the Radisson/SAS...

Well there was a schedule change that made our connecting flight from FCO an impossibility so rather than lose the upgrades we chose to fly in the night before and maybe see a little of Frankfurt -- or if nothing else have a nice dinner and a good sleep -- then leave at 8 am for ORD. I am always open for adventure...

Never really
visited to Germany, except FRA a gazzilion times...

So it's not such a bad thing. Besides, I'll be doing the same trip on 1/21 again...

Both of these hotels have free shuttle service (many more also have a free shuttle) and are in small towns.
Since this is January 2007 and a Saturday night, you have lots of time to wait for something to come along.
Thanks for the suggestions as I will definitley look into them. As it is we do have a lot of time before the trip so I can look at many different sources for even the best deals... I am just amazed at how many hotels have no rooms available for 1/6...
