To bump this thread, what do fellow SIN based KF members recommend for racking up miles? Trying to recommend 1 to my dad.

I mean there is the DBS Black card, or the UOB plat card, or the usual Amex card. The black card and the UOB plat card have similar earning rates, though the black card has 4x bonus at luxury boutiques. But we don't shop there often.

Amex card has a standard earning rate. But other than earning miles, do cardmembers also get like points for redemption?

Also, I read sometime back that one of the FTers actually managed to get the subscription fee waived. So it can be done?
