With the start up of go! airlines, there are low fares available if you shop around. However, keep in mind that you can book a flight now on Aloha for 5K and have it honored next year since the tkts are good for a year and you can change the dates of the flights after the initial booking. I can almost guarantee that there won't be $29 fares next year.

But if you're traveling in the next few weeks/months, then by all means pay the fare if you can find 'em.
