Where do these e-certs come from? Does NW mail them out? Every e-cert I've traded for came from someone who says they got it from someone else. Knowing how they are properly distributed would help me understand a lot.
And what if you get an e-cert from NW, and it's been used? Does NW track the recipient of each e-cert?

I've seen them as part of courtesy packs GAs hand out after long delays and/or canceled flights. Considering they just grabbed the packs out of a stack I really doubt that they track who got which cert in these cases. I've also heard of mass mailings with certs but those are usually the "zone" certs.
