Have Degree/Suitcase, Will Travel :)
Hello, Thought I might as well post here...Can't Hurt anything, so here I go:
Education:
BA Finance
Employment History:
-March 2006 to Present: Sales for a Financial Services/Insurance Company
-January 2005 to May 2005: Intern for the United States Senate Committee on Finance
-January 2003 to December 2005( except for January '05 to May '05): Student Baker on my college campus. I worked the late night 11:00pm - 3:00am production shifts. Faced a deadline every night.
-February 2001 to August 2001: Bookkeeper/Accounting for a small mail order company with approx $6000 to $8000 in daily sales.
Licenses:
-NASD Series 7 and Series 66
-State of Virginia Life and Health
Languages:
-Only fluent in English, but I have taken 2 semester of Russian and continue to work at it...I hope to be conversational by years end if not sooner depending on how much my wife will work with me.
Continuing Education:
-I have every intention of going back to get an MBA after my wife has finished her PhD in 3 years or so and I hope to have completed Level 1 of the CFA exam by this time next year.
What I am looking for:
-I consider myself to be quite flexible. I would prefer something in the Financial Services/Wealth Management Industry ideally in Securities Analysis/Portfolio Analysis end of the business. I am also interested in and enjoy research and I would also consider the consulting side of finance. One other area I would consider would be Corporate Finance/Financial Analysis. I feel I can do just about anything a degree in Finance would qualify me for. I also would be interested in Health Care Management because the majority of my time working for the Finance Committee was spent working on current issues facing Medicare and Medicaid. Again, I feel I am quite flexible and given the fact that I am a quick learner I feel I can do most anything my BA in Finance would qualify me for at this point. I love reading and staying current on all happenings domestically and globally and if I am not busy with work or posting on FT you can usually find me reading the WSJ or The Economist.
Location:
-I am located in Norfolk right now. I would consider moving most anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic Eastern Seaboard. My preferences would be Washington DC, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, or Chicago. I realize those last 2 are not East Coast. Ideally for at least the next couple of years I would prefer to either stay in either Norfolk or take a job that would require a great deal of travel and allow me to keep my residence in Norfolk.
Thank you for reading about me and PM me with any questions you may
have.
David
