No, the US DOES recognize it, has OFFICIALLY done so for over 40 years (since the Supreme court case regognizing ones right to have dual citizenship). Only that the US will not recognize any "claims" of your foreign citizenship, nor will the US be likely to give you any assistance if you get in trouble back in your other country.......oh yeah and the US expects you to keep paying taxes.
