How much we spend, conflicting data

I have noticed this for a while on this board and not a specific post triggered it, so no one take offense.

It seems to me that a lot of people here are forced by policy to buy the cheapest fare available, at least sometimes a LUT.

Then I read other posts which say that they will just take their $25,000, $50,000, or $75,000 to other airlines.

And here I am in the middle, I don't come close to either. I buy K+ fares, not because of MQMs but because of upgrades. Though, I would admit that if I were short on MQMs because LUTs it might bother me too. I take about 40 domestic trips a year at about $400 each for a total of $16,000. I bet it ends up less than that.

I understand that everyone here has different patterns and different market prices but it doesn't seem to match up. If you spend $75,000 you will cruise to PM and won't have to worry about the MQM deal.
