Welcome to FT,
Random987!
Can you give us a few more details on how you will be arriving and how many days you will be staying? Did you want to combine the trip to Vancouver Island with visits to Seattle or Vancouver?
Wickaninnish Inn, of course, is a few hours drive from Victoria, but it is quite pleasant at that time of year. Tofino is a lovely little town, but it is small.
The Aerie is a beauiful place (I have stayed there) but it feels a bit isolated, but maybe that is what you want...???
Sooke Harbour House is very well known and has a great rep for both its rooms and its dining room. It's a ways out of downtown Victoria, but I don't think that matters, am I right? If you stay here, you can also do some nice drives to Port Renfrew, visiting some of the beaches and parks. There is also a nice trail for day hiking, if that interests you.
All 3 are very very nice hotels with fine dining. Our Junior Suite at the Aerie felt small, but of course they have a range of room types, depending on how much you want to spend.
My favourite would probably be the Wickaninnish, but that is because I love to be right on the ocean and be able to walk along beaches, and see big waves. And Tofino, although small, has a few nice restaurants and shops, etc so if you are staying for a few days, you have some options. Sooke Harbour House is on the ocean, but it's a very different kind of spot. The Aerie is up above the water, and the views are beautiful, but the inlet is distant.
