Living in the UK and with heavy travel in the USA, it is very important to understand that we live in a global economy. If US is inferior anywhere, it is inferior everywhere. They are competing against many, many non-USA airlines. If they do not know that now, they will when VS and other Europe carriers start providing USA intra-country service soon.
