Is it just N and V fares that earn 25% ? We have to use corporate travel and I'm trying to make sure I know when I'm getting.........
Yes, certain cheapo flights will only earn you 25% - similar on BA, LH and many (but not all) other European programmes. Somebody somewhere else on FT described it along the lines of US programmes rewarding you for flying with them rather than with other competitor US carriers; while European programmes (where passengers are more likely to stick to one major national carrier) reward you for spending more money with them. Fly business, get status quicker!
Information on all the FB partners, including earning possibilities on KLM itself, should be available on this
search engine (although I am sure it is riddled with inaccuracies). N and V earn 25% on KLM.
With FB you can also get status by
number of segments flown (usually the only way I ever achieve it). Many other programmes seem to be fazing that out. 15 return trips or 8 return trips with connections will get you Gold.
