Tokyo. Red markings at Shibuya Crossing. What are they?
They weren't there before January, and I didn't see them at Christmas.

Just watched a Geology programme on BBC4 and saw these huge swathes of red paint snaking around the famous Shibuya crossing (visible here )

Anybody have any idea:

When they appeared.

Why - what are they for?

Are they anywhere else in Tokyo?
