I do not have any status with other chains. I travel a fair amount, but usually have to stay at a hotel someone else has pre-designated.

Since January of this year, I have logged close to 30 nights in a hotel, with 4 big chains and 2 independents. If I could have chosen one or two chains, I would have status by now. But that option wasn't available to me most of the time.
