The rules for accruing mileage are usually based on the operating carrier, not the ticketed carrier. So in this case, even though BMI may be a partner, United is not. So, I do not believe you would be able to earn mileage on this flight.
Normally, this only works if the carrier operating the flight is a partner of the desired frequent flyer program.
