Yes, but if they dont, you cant reallly argue it. For the most part, as long as the Coupon and AWD are in the reservation prior to you walking up to the counter, they usually are unaware, no matter what the coupons are. There are a few notable exceptions, But for most it works.

I once rented from Avis, using my NWA Credit Card, With my United Miles Number, and a Delta Coupon and a Starwood AWD. No Questions Asked.

Most of the time, its just how saavy you are and how on it the person at the counter is. But Preferred Service Helps. Less Scrutiny.
