Even if the rate included some taxes (none were specified either at the time of booking or at the hotel), a 25% "discount" seems excessive. If it had been a US hotel I probably would have gotten 7000 points or so, as the incidentals would have counted.
Since most of my Marriott stays are in the US, is this standard overseas practice?
What was Marriott's response when you contacted them?
