What time was it when you got caught in the security line? There are 3-4 other TSA entrances open in Terminal E at any time. You could try the next two closest checkpoints at DL or, personally, I'd use the one by CO/NW. The “Low E” Skylink stop is right there. I'd take Skylink one stop up to “High E” and then you'd only be a few steps from the US gates. Good luck.

Hey, that's quite a thought you have there dayone, thanks! I will have to study the map for E and see what the alternatives are. Unfortunately it means quite a hike as the PHX/DFW flights go out of 38. But if it means I can still get on the flight without waiting in a painfully slow line, I'll do it. I also want to see if US will consider an Elite security line there as I believe they have the room.
Your tip is a good one, and is why I posted here on Flyertalk. All the FF's heads together can beat a dumb airport management team and TSA together. (Well beating TSA really doesn't take much!)
