WOW, I am sure glad I found this board! Thank you for the great responses. Dovster, I like the idea, sounds like the conservative approach, the $100 redeposit would be worth it for saving 60k. I might be able to write a web script to ping the Delta site every hour to check on availability of a SkySaver for my specific flight (not sure if this will work). The more aggressive approach suggested by JoeFlyer sounds interesting. I would be willing to take the risk, monitor first class section. The only problem is I lost my Gold this year and am back to Silver. Do you think I would be able to switch to a SkyChoice first class at the last minute once I see the first class section fill up as it gets closer to the day of the flight? That way, I could let it ride until I absolutely had to drop the 120k.
The labor day thing is also killing me on this one.

Unfortunately, since my wife is already on first class with a SkySaver, I can't do CO or NW or fly to HNL.
