The annual fee will be charged in the next couple of weeks so I still have a few weeks to work on this. I declined the offer. I opened up the Amex Business card last week and have started using that but had hoped to leave the personal card open atleast long enough for all of my bonus double points from the promotions to post. It is a pretty good bit of points. I may call back in a week or so and see if I can get someone else that will offer me a better credit, actually would like the full $85 credit. We'll see.
I called it today to cancell my Personal Platinum Delta Card. After being transfered to the retention department I was offered 7000 miles for keeping it. I took that and kept my card.
The representative also told me that starting this June, the companioin certificates that you get if you are a holder of Platinum card have changed. Now there is no black out dates and you would be able to book them in T and U class. This should be a good deal for the certificates since they used to be almost worthless before.
