They have offered me the Optima card every time that I have called to cancel (have had the Amex card on and off for years), but I want to get more points for my spending dollar than 1 pt for $2 spent. Looks like Delta is pretty firm with charging their $85 annual fee, aren't they? Maybe you can reapply for the Delta Amex again after waiting a little while. Does anyone here know about how long you would have to wait between canceling one and reapplying later and getting a no annual fee card again?
