I never saw the old lounge, but this looks very nice. And big too - lots of space and fairly clever seating, I think - i.e. places for 2 people to sit and talk (in the case of Shiny + Guest) which can also be nicely used by one without too much intrusion. I like this idea (I know I seek out the areas away from others unless the lounge is chokka since I don't want to share a sofa/space with people I don't know...but then I'm a miserable sod ).
