Whilst its not necessarily a promotion as such, it is moving up to the market value (as I'm cheap at the moment, basically - the price of living and working in the provinces)
It seems to me that you are currently doing 70 hours a fortnight plus as low as 20 minutes a day commute ( if you drive )
You have 30 days plus 8 public holidays = 38 days off . Approximately 260 working days a year = 1820 hours and you have 266 hours leave ( based on 7 hr days ) meaning that you work 1554 hours a year and commute for 89 hours => 1643hrs
Based on 23 + 8 at 7.5 hr days you have 1950 hours with 248 hours leave = 1702 hours plus 801 hrs commute = 2503 hours a year
This gives an overall additional hours used in relation to work and commute as 52.3% extra for an extra (40% - commute costs ).
Thrown in with being able to work the 70 hours over 9 days, I think that, if it was me, I would not take the new role unless there were other reasons ( e.g. I didn't like where I was currently working )
