I've got pals already living in Merstham, and halving the commute can only be a good thing.

I've been in Worthing for 5 years now, and don't have any real roots beyond some mates (who I'd be able to keep in touch with easily).

Being closer to airports (and I'm not just saying this as I'm on FT) would be a great thing, as I'm up to Scotland every 4-6 weeks on family visits anyway.
