I’m taking a brief vacation later this week and will be flying Finnair between Boston and Helsinki (flights 2432 and 2423) on an ‘O’ fare class ticket. Since Finnair is a OW airline, I was hoping to shove these miles into my AAdvantage account (yeah I know, only 50% on the EQM’s /100% on RDM’s). Unfortunately, I just realized that only *regularly* scheduled Finnair flights are eligible for accrual on AA (see the AAdvantage website).

That being said, I’m trying to figure out where I should stick the miles. I think it’s fairly unlikely that I’ll be traveling Finnair much in the future so I’m a bit hesitant to cubby-hole the miles with their FF program. I do foresee myself traveling a fair amount to Asia and the Pacific in the coming years so that has me looking at other programs. Right now, I see my alternatives as being BA, Cathay Pacific, or Qantas (assuming the miles accrue with those programs). Does anyone have any recommendations? Currently I’m not loyal to any of the aforementioned OW programs.
