The international terminal is almost complete and will be ready in Sept. 2006.

I have friends coming to Chiang Mai during the Christmas holidays and they were going to fly from SFO to BKK via Northwest Airlines then on to Chiang Mai. The price is around $1400 USD round trip per person just to and from Bangkok from San Fransisco not including the Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Bangkok portion.

I found air tickets on China Airlines, SFO (San Fransisco) - Chiang Mai (CNX).The price R/T is $1259 for adult and $994 per child. This is cheaper than SFO - (BKK) Bangkok on China Airlines, why I don't know. Round trip Bangkok is $1363 for adult and $1072 per child. Taxes etc. included

Also Eva Airlines has flights from SFO to BKK r/t from Adult USD $1,079 and
Child USD $809 during that same busy time period. Taxes etc. included.

If there are cheaper flights please let me know so I can pass on the information to our friends.
