While this has been debated elsewhere, lowering the shade on a westbound transatlantic is a major inconvenience to those of us who prefer to minimize jetlag by being exposed to natural light (and catch the view as well). Being plunged into a dark cabin for hours in the middle of the day plays havoc with my body clock and I think that trumps someone's "convenience" in watching a bad movie.
