These abbreviations are there to remind the gate agent to either lift the flight coupon (CPN) or not worry about it (ET) through this transition period from paper to "paperless" travel. And of course, you left out "CERT" if one is using a certificate to upgrade, to remind the gate agent to check for an SWU, SSWU or NAU...
