We are flying on Go to Kaui. Go flies out of the inter-island terminal. Go's change fee is $20 per ticket, which isn't terrible. But I've heard that their 50-seat planes have been flying almost full. So I'd want to know for certain that I'd make it. Otherwise, you start having problems about guaranteed/pre-paid hotel rooms, etc.
What I would do with respect to the Hawaii portion -
if you can't get United to change anything, I wouldn't change the interisland flights either; I'd check my bags all the way through to LIH (have UA interline the bags to GO), and take the chance that the UA flight arrives on time / early and/or Go runs late; and, if I missed the interisland flight, I wouldn't worry too much - I'd be surprised if I couldn't be accomodated on a later flight.
(If you change to later flight now, you still risk the chance that something delays your re-scheduled UA flight requiring further change...)
