Interesting...I just called the Emerald Club and asked whether spouses or SO needed to be present when the car is picked up... she said "yes"...but when I asked why since the whole point of Emerald Club was to by-pass the counter she said "You're right"... that doesn't make sense. They don't have to be there."
Makes me think that for the $40 more it might be safer to go with Avis....
