As someone who never went crazy with scouring ballfields or trash cans for codes, I only entered codes from my own consumption of Coke (none of which was allowed to go flat) and managed to earn a few thousand miles. Not a bad haul for something I'd have done anyway, more or less, although Coke did benefit from getting me to buy their drinks at times when I really might have preferred a Snapple or a Vitamin Water.

But this was always a limited-time promotion, as all of these games and gimmicks are, and it's over. I've stopped typing in my codes as of the last 500-miler I redeemed, which was conveniently a few days before they stopped selling them. Soon enough the codes will go away entirely and we can all forget how we were "burned" by the disappearance of rewards.

As for more 500-milers--don't hold your breath. For most people (dare I say "normal people"?) the novelty of the game has worn off and Coke is just waiting until it's convenient to stop printing the caps before the jig is up.

Fun while it lasted ... now we can go back to complaining about the worthlessness of the currency we traded into.
