Darling Spottie - I will not spare your blushes when I say that you have lots of games and this is but one of them!

All I can contribute to the conversation is that when I was a tiny little Pucci I flew from LGW when it was just as the picture shows. I flew in - wait for it - a Vickers Viking owned by Pegasus Air Transport (which I think became part of BUA? Help someone please). Yes, Posters it is true.

There is worse I - in arms (my Mothers' - flew from Croydon (was there ever a IATA code for Croydon?) Airport.

So - yes to follow up there is only one runway. Spots do you remember a day in December (1980 springs to mind - when the runway was blocked when the Big Orange turned too soon for the taxiway and became mired in the mud? I have flown and landed at the "spare" - and it is a disgrace that the No 2 airport in Britain only has one runway. I even remember the fight over whether LGW was in Surrey or in Sussex. Now just how sad is that?
