Long Haul:
1. Seat comfort.
2. Entertaiment.
3. Choice of food/complimentary bar.
4. Ability to earn miles in my chosen programme (preferably at 1 x if on a cheaper economy ticket).
Short Haul:
1. Cost above all else.
2. Service if the price isn't much more. For example, flying out of MAN to European destinations, I would generally pick AF/KLM/LH/Swiss over the local carriers (BMI and BA) because these airlines usually cost about the same but still give me a sandwich and a glass of wine (plus tea).
