Not
for me, but I got in through a re-opened door at YYZ once. It was late 1989 or early 1990. Evidently after push-back but before taxi a passenger had kicked up such a fuss about needing to go back to the terminal to fetch a handbag left at security that the captain did bring the flight back but then put her off for good.
The push-back to re-gate must have taken at least 30 minutes, because I heard the story above from the gate-agent who had already watched me race up as the air-bridge was withdrawn the first time, had re-booked me on a subsequent flight, and then paged me whilst I was heading for a bar; "will passenger kiwibigdave please return to gate blahdy-blah". So I ended up watching airport staff take the lady off and then I got on. "Sit there!" the FA barked at me, pointing at an empty 1AB, and such was my first experience of a premium AC cabin
So no dirty stares for me, though I had nothing for a carry-on except a case of beer, which got me a few sideways glances - and one request to share it around. (I was on my way from visiting one cousin in YYZ to another in YHZ had promised the latter I would bring him some Steinlager. It was a big NZ export at the time, that you could get in Ontario but not in Nova Scotia.)
And such are the memories that make flying seem like fun and not a chore . . .
