This location is far and away the most popular of the MVCI properties. At any given time there are 2500+ pending trades from other II properties. And the popularity is due, IMO, to the location. It's virtually perched on the edge of the ocean and such construction would never be approved today. Now the setbacks are so distant that you can see but rarely hear the ocean.
This is not a purpose-built MVCI property but a conversion from a hotel. So you don't have all the amenities like a fully equipped kitchen and washers/dryers in the unit. No stoves/ovens/garbage disposers. Washers and dryers are located in a laundry room on the ground floor.
There are two towers at the Ocean Club. The Molokai tower conversion was completed about 4 years ago.The Lanai tower just finished conversion last year.
The rooms are well-furnished as they are at other MVCI properties. But you don't have quite the living space you do in other MVCI's. The Maui property is all about location, location, location rather than in-suite amenities.
Having said all that, I wouldn't trade our units for any other property. And I've stayed at quite a few other purpose-built MVCI's with all the bells and whistles. I'm over there 3-4 times a year and am anxiously looking forward to the next visit.
Enjoy your stay!
