OMG!!! I roffled at that...
I've heard the GA's give the doom and gloom delay speech many times at LGA only to have the flight "reappear".
Hell, once they even "departed" the flight that was previously cancelled in the computer so they had to make a new flight number. I think they added an "A" to the end of the it. Most people had left for hotels or home by that time and only some of us really hard core people that were really far from home toughed it out at the airport and eventually left on out original flight (with an "A" appended to it at least).
