Well it could have been worse - you could have had an unaccompanied minor alongside you! At least the parent was there!
This is a rather interesting phenomenon I have noticed. As we all know, as Gold, etc, we are allowed the pick of the cabin on a domestic flight even the front rows apart from row 1. Fine. Usually, I have noticed the seat alongside me is free (I like to think this is BA being kind in blocking it

).
Anyway what I didn't realise until now was if there are any unaccompanied minors, the purser tends to put them near the front to keep an eye on them. Fine. However this usually ends up in the spare seats next to where you are sitting.
Fortunately on a domestic with
BA97 recently (we were both either side of the aisle), an unaccompanied minor was sat in the window seat and the person who was in the window moved to the middle seat which was free alongside me.
This is all fine however the rather confident minor then wanted endless games of eye spy, etc, etc on the flight much to the dismay of the person in the middle seat who was trying hard to read, etc.
All I was thinking was thank god I wasn't sitting there! What would you have done
edi-traveller?
Its one of those situations that its harmless enough yet annoying, however in such a postion in the cabin which usually has lone high yield passengers?!?!?!?
