I noticed a couple of days ago that Travelocity's search by range of dates didn't seem to work for an ATL-DUS fare for sometime this fall I was looking for. I finally emailed Travelocity customer service when I started getting the error message something to the effect of " there is no service between the cities you just specified". ( I had put in ATL-LON for a flexible dates search)

This is the message I received last night from Travelocity:

We would like to inform you that effective Monday July 17, 2006 the Best Fare Finder
Path i.e. using
the flexible date search or using Fare Watcher email, will no longer support
International Markets.
This includes US-International, International-US, International-International,
US-Mexico, Mexico-US
routes. However, US-Canada and Canada-US will continue to be supported by Best Fare
Finder.

However, flight availability is displayed in the search is narrowed down. Hence,
request that you
try booking this reservation using the ' Exact dates only' or the '+/- 1 to 3 days'
flexible option.

Additionally, you may choose to call our dedicated 888-Travelocity (888-872-8356)
number. This will
allow you to receive step-by-step expert trip planning from our trained travel
specialists
(available 24 hours a day, seven days a week).

It would have been less confusing if Travelocity's error message had said that instead of saying there was no service between whatever cities one was checking. Still, what is up with this? After their search (mostly) working for years, did they just decide to turn it off? I have often had trouble with their international searches showing seemingly cheap airfares on airlines that don't fly when you click on the check availability button (such as it initially showing a cheap fare between Chattanooga and Rome on Air Italia for example). Still it was useful most of the time.

I hate to see this "enhancement" since I'll bet that the dream maps will no longer work correctly either for international searches.
