Wow! Is TED now truly "no frills?" Quite bizarre. I assume the A320 is designed to fill every seat and also carry provisions to feed and water those aboard. Maybe they forgot to pay the Gate Gourmet bill last month? Or maybe they were "short staffed" and couldn't offer any service? Last month the purser on my SFO-LAX flight made the arbitrary decision that there would be no pre-departure service in first class, and that only water, orange juice and coffee would be offered to economy class during the flight due to a "lack of staffing." It was an ex-Shuttle 737 with 3 FAs. Same as normal. I also asked about glassware for drinks in first class and she said that this type of aircraft NEVER carries glassware. Also not true. She was just an all around witch. Funny thing happened when we made a rather abrupt turn off the active runway at LAX, one of the doors in the galley flew open and the glassware meant for first class shattered all over the floor.
