Delta Assists Customers Returning to U.S. from Lebanon with Reduced-Rate Travel

from Delta

BALTIMORE, July 20, 2006 – Delta Air Lines is making it easier for customers returning to the United States from Lebanon to purchase one-way, reduced-rate travel from Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Should Delta’s lower fares not be available, Delta is offering a 50 percent off* discount on full coach, walk-up fares for one-way travel from Baltimore to any of Delta’s 211 destinations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These discounts will allow passengers who may be stranded in Baltimore and anxious to return home to take advantage of fares that are significantly lower than those typically available to last-minute travelers.

Customers wishing to purchase tickets at these special rates should contact an Airport Customer Service agent at Baltimore-Washington International Airport or contact Delta Reservations at 1-800-221-1212. Proof of entry into the United States from Beirut within 24 hours of the desired date of travel will be required to secure this special discount. Tickets are nonrefundable and change fees will apply if reservations are changed after ticketing. Additional restrictions apply. See below for details.

“Delta people have long been known for their willingness to help during difficult times and we are again pleased to offer assistance to customers planning last-minute travel upon their arrival into the United States from Lebanon,” said Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s executive vice president – Network Planning, Revenue Management and Alliances. “As the largest U.S. carrier in terms of destinations served, we are well prepared to find ways to transport our customers from Baltimore to most any point in the United States they want to travel.”

From Baltimore, Delta offers customers 25 peak-day departures to its U.S. hubs and focus cities – 10 flights to Atlanta, seven flights to Boston, five flights to Cincinnati, two flights to New York-JFK, and one flight to Salt Lake City. Customers can continue their connections onward to more than 200 North American destinations, including airports in all 50 states.
