For anyone who'd planned a side trip to BEY in the coming weeks, Middle East Airlines just informed me they are currently operating some flights out of Damascus and intend to offer either Damascus or Amman as alternatives to Beirut, for the same price. When asked about a refund, they indicated that would definitely be available if the BEY airport is still unusable when one is scheduled to fly.

The above might seem obvious, but I thought I'd save someone the footwork if you wonder what your options are.

If the situation doesn't clear up soon (God/Allah help us!) of course, other options might become available, but that's where things stand now.
