What would I tell executives....trying to create a pseudo full-service carrier with a untrue low cost advertising line that lacks class isn't going to work. It presents a minimalist impression with non-minimal prices. JetBlue and Southwest and the like will likely continue to get the bargain basement hunters and travelers who like a no-frills attitude.
US should step it up - be a rational fare airline with classy premium service and decent coach service. Look at DL - a choice of snacks even on a 134 mile ATL-BHM CR7 flight. Mints passed around on RJs prior to landing. US offers no benchmarks. Look for benchmarks and create a good-service airline without excessive frills and create a rational fare structure. Be geared to business travelers - take care of elites - and provide decent enough service so that most junk traffic will be willing to pay a small premium - only try and compete with WN to fill extra seats during off-peak times. Also, understand that aircraft choice does matter - kill CR9s on anything over 90 minutes.
I'm sitting in the PIT club right now (using my VZ Card) ....it DOES NOT have free wireless. There is free wireless in the PIT airport, but it is not a good enough quality signal to be used in the US Club.
